A few months ago, I never would have imagined myself wearing a smartwatch, let alone working out how to use one.
It started simply enough. In your late sixties you do start to think a bit more about how you're doing, how the heart's getting on, whether you're really sleeping. Nothing alarming. Just the sort of thing that crosses your mind more often than it used to. A few people I know my age had started wearing one, so I thought I'd look into it.
What I wanted was simple. A screen big enough to read without my glasses. A battery that doesn't need charging every single day. And something to check in on day to day.

I always thought smartwatches were for runners, or younger people who work out. Turns out that's not quite right. More and more people my age wear one, for one simple reason. It's a calmer way to keep an eye on how you're doing.
That made sense to me. It isn't about counting steps or calories or how far you've run. It's the things you actually wonder about. Is my heart rate alright? Am I sleeping properly? It's just nice to know where I stand.
The whole thing surprised me. It isn't too much to get your head around. It keeps an eye on the few things that actually matter to me. My heart rate, through the day and night, so I can notice if anything looks unusual and get it checked. It can also flag possible signs of atrial fibrillation, which is an irregular heartbeat worth getting looked at if it keeps coming up. It doesn't diagnose anything. It flags things, and I decide what to do about them.
My sleep too, including signs of sleep apnoea, so I can see how long and how well I actually slept. It all shows up clearly in the Gard Pro Fit app, which is completely free. No subscription.
That was my only real worry. That it would be too fiddly, too technical, and I'd end up giving up on it. It wasn't. Setting it up took maybe ten minutes, and the app, Gard Pro Fit, is straightforward. Large text, a clear menu, nothing I had to puzzle over.
Now I have a little look over my first cup of coffee each morning. How did I sleep, how am I doing. It's a nice way to start the day, and a quiet bit of reassurance.

The watch is great when comparing it to the Apple ultra top spec which I still use. The Gardpro is literally plug and play, battery life is amazing, highly recommend it for those looking for a time piece that pretty much covers everything a smart watch should. Subtle difference in the calorie measurement though, seems to tally less than the Apple does. Suppose it could be down to settings and config etc… either way great product. Need more watch faces to choose from..

I bought this watch for my wife because I was so impressed with my own. My wife has several medical issues that require her to monitor her BP, heart rate and body temperature at regular intervals. She has also started trying to increase the number of steps a day to help herself. The Gardpro can do all of this and more for a very competitive price. Highly recommend.
This watch is for my teenage son and he loves it. He says it has long battery life. He checks his text messages, measures his workouts and progress, and says it fits well. Delivery took a little longer than I was expecting but that wasn't a big deal.
The watch is of a very good build quality, it looks sleek and premium. Super easy to set up and the battery (so far) is amazing as I have not had to charge it yet and it's been nearly three weeks! I would certainly recommend as I personally can't justify the prices of the 'branded' smart watches but with this one you dont need to. Loads of features and all working well.
